Note the 7th paragraph misrepresentation of what the author states is “a statement early in the pandemic, grandly called the “Great Barrington Declaration”…” The article is supposedly about “a dangerous shift driven by a critical mass of people who now reject decades of science…” The article is actually about a lot of other things other than that while purporting to be an article in support of "science". It isn't science that people have lost trust in. People have lost trust in other people who claim to know everything under a false claim of absolutist "science" that seems to have little to do with searching for truth.
Dr. Bhattacharya, what a truly revealing insightful interview. It talked to me as I have lost all trust in our institutions which is a big deal. I know I’m not alone. I am vaccine injured after one shot of p. My erosion of trust started when searching peer reviewed research journals on vaccine injuries and was struck by every piece prefaced the journal with lauding the virtues of the vaccines before going into some detail about one of the many injuries. It was obvious kowtowing to big pharma. I began to become aware of the narrative “safe and effective follow the science” was used globally, it didn’t come from my Canadian government which I trusted. That raised my suspicions. Then came along the weaponized term “antivaxxers”, people were scapegoated for causing the pandemic to keep circulating instead of the truth about efficacy. Get the public riled up about them. The vaccine injured have been accused of being antivaxxers. It’s now become a neologism in our society. The public doesn’t realize they’ve been indoctrinated. Pharma has successfully created skepticism about vaccine injuries. The doctors, Professors, family court judges and scientists have all had their reputations smeared for speaking against the narrative. In Maryanne’s Demasi’s substack her interview with Scott Atlas who states when asked about the vaccines, “ I think politicians are afraid of hot button issues….I’m just saying that it’s a highly controversial subject and they’re probably reluctant to get into it.” Afraid of what?, I ask. What this says to me is pharma has enormous wealth, power and influence which is detrimental to our health care, and lives actually. After all, they’re not in the business of healthcare but obscene profits at any cost in a psychopathic way. Unfortunately there are always those willing to take big pharma’s payoffs. Trust? Trust needs to be earned not given.
I've been following you for a year, but now I see and hear YOUR story. Lee Fang, can I introduce you to my beautiful 34 year old daughter? No one else is good enough. I can actually understand the world, the "news" and TRUST your reporting. I don't know what's wrong with everyone else. Maybe I'm too picky. Your generation has the future of this country in its hands.
Thank you for the fascinating interview. It feels like this is a giant jigsaw puzzle, and you and other Substack writers, and investigators, and healthcare professionals, and a few politicians are putting the pieces together. I think a complete picture is slowly emerging, but it is not pretty (for us ordinary people).
I continue to appreciate your discussions and the podcast. I would still prefer an audio version on Substack. Many of the places that do this put in ads I have to skip. I would prefer not to give the ads the time of day. If you post an audio version, I don't have to do this.

I don't see people distrusting these institutions as a problem, much less a crisis.
