Hi everyone,
I realized today I have not shared my full interview with Russell Brand from last month. X users may already will have seen it, but The Illusion of Consensus audience must be directed to it! Here it is:
Jon Stewart CANCELLED - Apple CENSORS Host On China & AI - Stay Free #229
I appear around the 50-minute mark and stay for a solid half-hour segment to discuss Canada’s disturbing new podcast regulations, free speech, totalitarianism, and the rise of independent media such as Joe Rogan on Spotify and
on Substack. This interview was very special for me because Russell has been a personal, spiritual hero of mine for a few years. I admittedly have not watched any of his movies, but became a fan of his in 2020 when I was going through some hardship and began asking spiritual questions about the nature of mind and mental suffering. Hearing Russell offer some though-provoking wisdom and reflect on his own mystic evolution from drug and sex addiction to a place of greater psychological freedom and faith in ultimate reality, was deeply inspiring.
I deeply identify with many of the inner issues he’s struggled with — which are universal to mankind — and find great hope and solace in his transformation.
I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did and I look forward to hopefully talking to Russell again (and maybe showing him how I have one of his tattoos on my left arm 😂).

Wow. This was powerful. Thank you for sharing - I had missed it but glad you doubled us back here. Your comments were cogent and insightful in the context of concerning trends in Canadian media. In fact they made so much sense I fear you may be roundly criticized... Still, I'm grateful.
I discovered Russell Brand several years ago and you perfectly articulated how he is someone who achieved spirituality and thought provoking wisdom following years of addiction and all the issues related to addiction. You are a remarkable and brilliant young man and I'm guessing that your inner struggles have contributed to the person you are today. I love your work and wish you much success.
