Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Hi everyone,

We here at The Illusion of Consensus want to wish everyone — from all walks of life — a happy holiday season, however you celebrate. Amid all the social media smokescreens and boiling political conflicts, we can easily lose sight of what matters most. As much as government policy, public health regulations, and media narratives affect our life, our loved ones matter more.

While engaging with all the world’s problems, we must attend to what’s within ten feet of us. Really attend to it. Pay attention to what people are saying, be sensitive to others’ pain, and try to help where possible.

Not everyone is in the ideal circumstance, but even if all you have had is the opportunity to spread love and joy to others — through giving gifts, volunteering at a food bank, a phone call, or a casual conversation over dinner — consider it a blessing. Only you can make the world a better place in that moment with that other person.
