Also I wanted to add a few things that are confusing. When I derived the IFR from the DIAMOND PRINCESS Cruise ship, the quotient came out to be about .3%. I wanted to add that my final value came out to be .1% and why but Jay needed to move on to the next topic. .You have to reduce the quotient because the average age on the ship which was 68 years is much higher than the average age in the countries that want to know what the actual IFR is; around 47 years. When you make this adjustment, it comes out to be .1%. Jay's came out I think, about 4-5x higher from his seroprevalence study but that was because he missed the ones who no longer had antibodies in their blood after 3 months (because they're gone by then because several half lives have gone by by then) but had been infected (so his denominator was too small , making the quotient too large).
A few other things. The volume of my cosmetic surgery patients did stop during the lockdowns and this hurt me because I needed the income to pay for the OR time and anesthesia on the free surgeries as I have gotten only $1500 in donations over 23 years and I have to pay about $2000 out of my own pocket for each operation I do- the open heart cases, much, much more-. I've done 1514 in the 23 years. (I was a plastic surgeon for 21 years before I got my training in pediatric cardiac surgery.)
Another thing I wanted to add was, please don't be too hard on Jay for moving on to the next topic when I had more to say. Both parents were their family's only survivors of the killing fields. They live in Siem Reap. The father normally guides tourists to the ruins. What was not mentioned in the interview were 2 big points that I do think are relevant. Especially the town of Siem Reap focuses around tourism and it was devastated financially during the covid lockdowns from lack of tourism. Also ivermectin and hydroxychloriquin are used for many different parasitic infections throughout Asia and I have always assumed that was one reason they did so well, until the vaccines began affecting immune response. But my friend's answer broke my heart somewhere into the first or early second year. I had written asking how his family was and what it was like with COVID over there. His answer, " We do not worry about covid. It is nothing. We worry about starving because there is no work and no tourism. We can only get food from the rice fields."

Social political policy implemented through the practice of medicine, wearing white coats as props to imply authoritative understanding of hard, natural, medical science.
